| Thanks for visiting our website. Your support propelled us to success last fall, and we haven’t wasted time getting to work representing you.
Over the last few months, we’ve been fully focused on fiscally-responsible policies and legislation that will restore economic opportunity and growth in Upstate New York. We’ve voted to cut billions in government spending. In fact, the Wall Street Journal noted that “domestic discretionary spending grew by 6% in 2008, 11% in 2009 and 14% in 2010, but this year will fall by 4%.” At home, we’re offering top-notch services to our constituents and using my background as a businessman to work on important issues facing our region. Our local priorities mirror my work in Washington – improving transportation and infrastructure in our region, helping small businesses, and using our strong educational systems to create jobs. Finally, we’ve kept a campaign promise to always let you know where I stand on an issue, even if we don’t always agree, by publicly explaining every vote I take in Washington. This is an important time to serve in elective office because the great challenges we face, especially here, present us with great opportunities. I’m honored to have you as a partner. Together we’ll own our future again, and we’ll leave a better Upstate New York and America for our children and grandchildren. Warm regards, Richard |
